After strong gains in digital asset prices over the previous months, more crypto holders appear willing to spend part of their holdings during the holiday shopping season. Ahead of Bitcoin Black Friday on November 26, crypto payments provider Bitpay published a list of partner merchants planning to offer promotions for shoppers who choose to pay with digital assets.
Bitpay highlights merchants joining Bitcoin Black Friday
According to Bitpay, this year’s participating merchants span several retail categories, including jewelry, bullion, ecommerce, apparel, electronics, and luxury watches. Ace Jewelers is offering 20% off selected items, while precious metals dealer Apmex will give customers the cash price when they pay with crypto. Fast Private Jet is also running a promotion in which a customer who buys a €500 e-fast gift card will receive an upgrade to €1,000.
Bitpay CEO Stephen Pair said the company is seeing growing demand from consumers who want to “live life on crypto.” He added that the holiday season gives Bitpay a chance to support both shoppers interested in spending digital assets and merchants willing to accept crypto payments. Pair also linked that demand to price appreciation in bitcoin as well as bitcoin cash, ethereum, litecoin, and dogecoin, saying many holders are looking for ways to convert gains into holiday purchases.
Newegg, Pacsun, and other brands add more incentives
Bitpay also said Hostkey will provide a 10% discount on selected dedicated server plans. Jomashop.com is set to take $70 off every $1,000 purchase made through Bitpay. Ecommerce retailer Newegg will offer 20% off select orders above $500, while youth apparel brand Pacsun is expected to introduce special Friday-only promotions for Bitpay customers.
At Sonic Electronix, customers paying through Bitpay will be entered for a chance to win a car audio package upgrade and a $100 gift card. Luxury watch seller Wrist Aficionado is offering shoppers who spend $10,000 a $300 sitewide discount on all products.
More promotions may appear throughout Thanksgiving week
Bitpay noted that some promotions will be revealed gradually during Thanksgiving week leading into Black Friday. Beyond Bitpay’s own merchant network, bitcoinblackfriday.com is also expected to feature promotions for shoppers spending bitcoin, although the offers were still marked “coming soon” at the time of publication. Bitpay itself is planning a separate incentive for U.S. residents, making its crypto card available for free on Black Friday. The announcement underscores how crypto payments are being positioned not only as an investment off-ramp but also as a practical option for seasonal retail spending. For merchants, Black Friday remains a major demand window, and crypto-focused promotions may serve as another way to attract new customers.
