Bitquery Inc. co-founder Dionysios "Dean" Karakitsos has been accused of diverting more than $5 million from the company into his personal accounts over a period of years, according to a report by the New York Post. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleges that Karakitsos deleted 194 expense records before abruptly leaving the company. Karakitsos, 57, was a co-founder of Bitquery and served as its CEO, director, and treasurer through 2025, the report said. Bitquery, which tracks cryptocurrency values and fund flows, filed suit in June seeking the return of at least $5 million it says was taken. The company is also seeking additional damages to cover legal costs. The report added that Karakitsos later operated a prediction market platform called Assymetrix.
