Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan said on X that J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s "2027 Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions" report now includes Bitcoin in its long-range forecasts and assigns it the highest expected return among the asset classes listed. According to Hougan’s post, the report projects a 10% annualized compound return for Bitcoin over the next 10 years, ahead of 7.5% for U.S. large-cap equities and 5.5% for gold. The same report also estimates Bitcoin’s annualized arithmetic return at 20.9% and its annualized volatility at 55%, compared with 18% for U.S. large-cap equities and 17.2% for gold. Hougan joked that traditional financial institutions have moved from ignoring, mocking and opposing Bitcoin to including it in long-term capital market forecasts and expecting it to be the best-performing asset class over the coming decade.
