Partnership Details: $100 Million Liquidity Facility on Aladdin
According to Techub News, asset management giant BlackRock and Ethena Labs have announced a deepened partnership, offering a $100 million liquidity facility to institutional investors on the Aladdin platform through the tokenization platform Securitize. The facility enables eligible holders of BUIDL (BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund) to convert their holdings into stablecoins such as USDC and USDtb, and also supports reverse trading outside regular market hours. This design significantly enhances the flexibility of on-chain liquidity management for institutional capital.
Strategic Implications: Expanding Digital Dollar Infrastructure and Institutional RWA Adoption
The core objective of this collaboration is to expand the digital dollar infrastructure and drive institutional adoption of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). Aladdin, BlackRock's risk management and investment management platform, will now integrate Ethena's USDe-related products, allowing institutional investors to conduct on-chain stablecoin swaps and liquidity management within a unified interface. Notably, the two parties had previously established a cooperation framework around the BUIDL-backed USDtb stablecoin, and this new facility represents a further extension of their work in the tokenized asset and stablecoin ecosystem.
BUIDL Fund Scale and Market Position
Launched in 2024, the BUIDL fund currently has a total value locked (TVL) of over $3 billion, making it one of the largest tokenized U.S. Treasury funds in the market. Managed by BlackRock in partnership with Securitize, the fund offers institutional investors low-risk on-chain yield exposure. By joining forces with Ethena, BlackRock not only provides BUIDL holders with more asset conversion options but also reinforces its leadership in the tokenized RWA space.
