BlockSec said it will hold a closed-door event in Hong Kong on the afternoon of Sept. 16, 2026 under the title Harbouring Trust, with East Asia, Jumio and TiDB as co-hosts. The gathering is expected to bring together about 50 invited participants, mainly senior decision-makers and business leads from exchanges, wallets, payment and stablecoin firms, public-chain teams, professional service providers, SFC-licensed institutions in Hong Kong, and Invest Hong Kong. The discussion will center on three tracks: security, compliance and team readiness. Organizers said the backdrop is Hong Kong’s virtual-asset rulebook moving into implementation, including the operating VATP licensing regime, the start of the regulatory framework for stablecoin issuers, and continuing work on licensing for VA dealing, custody, advisory and asset management. The agenda includes a keynote by BlockSec co-founder and Chinese University of Hong Kong associate professor Zhou Yajin, a fireside chat on compliance boundaries, operations and growth, a cross-sector panel, a table introduction round, a Hot Seat session based on pre-event questionnaires, and a dinner after 18:00. The event is invitation-only, with a limited number of externally available seats subject to review.

Attendees span exchanges, payments, public chains and professional services

According to the event description, participants will mainly be institutional decision-makers and business heads. Listed attendees include exchanges and wallet platforms such as Bybit, Bitget, Bitget Wallet, Gate, KuCoin, OKX and VDX; payment and stablecoin firms including EchoX, Ksher, PayerMax, PingPong, RedotPay, Unlimit, Upay, LianLian Global and Paycools; public-chain and technology teams such as Conflux and Pharos; professional service firms including PwC and JunHe LLP; multiple Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission-licensed institutions including Bullish, EX.IO, OSL, VDX, Futu Securities and Huatai Securities; as well as Invest Hong Kong.

The attendee list also includes multiple CEOs, COOs, CSOs, CTOs, and executives responsible for compliance and risk control.

Focus set on Hong Kong regulation and AI-driven threats

The organizers said Hong Kong’s virtual-asset regulatory framework is moving into implementation. The VATP licensing regime is already in operation, the regulatory system for stablecoin issuers has started to take effect, and licensing frameworks covering VA dealing, custody, advisory and asset management are still being advanced.

At the same time, AI is changing both attack and defense. Phishing, deepfakes, identity impersonation and malicious code generation are all accelerating, raising the bar for compliant operations and team capability. For institutions, the question is no longer whether they can enter the business, but how to keep growing while staying within compliance boundaries. The session is built around that shift.

Three discussion tracks

Security

Speakers will discuss which risks can be identified before losses occur, how critical operations can resist identity forgery and social engineering, and whether teams can quickly contain and respond after abnormal events emerge.

Compliance

The compliance track will look at which requirements amount to clear red lines once regulation enters products and operations, which areas still leave room for legitimate business activity, and how KYT/AML, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and cross-border requirements can be embedded into workflow.

Team readiness

For teams moving from traditional finance into crypto, on-chain transactions, asset custody, private-key management, fund tracing and incident response all require new knowledge and new ways of working together. The event will examine how well teams understand these issues and whether processes for transfers, approvals and permission changes are dependable.

Agenda includes keynote, fireside chat, panel and dinner

After the opening, BlockSec co-founder and Chinese University of Hong Kong associate professor Zhou Yajin will deliver a keynote on security and compliance in the era of crypto institutionalization.

A fireside chat will then turn to compliance boundaries, operational practice and growth. A cross-sector panel will bring together leaders from trading, custody, payments and institutional asset businesses to discuss the risk defenses they face in common.

During the table introduction segment, each guest will raise one issue they are currently watching. The Hot Seat session will take several of the most frequently raised questions from the pre-event questionnaire to the stage and ask guests to share concrete approaches. A dinner is scheduled after 18:00, allowing the afternoon discussion to continue in a more relaxed setting.

Registration is subject to review

The event is invitation-only, with only a limited number of places currently open to outside applicants. Entry is subject to review. Interested participants can register through the original article link or via the following Luma page:
