BNB Chain on Aug. 5, 2026 officially launched the open Build the Era hackathon, inviting individual developers and teams to submit ideas for what it called the best AI Agent marketplace built on BNB Smart Chain, according to ChainCatcher.
BNB Chain said more than 200,000 AI Agents based on the ERC-8004 standard have already been registered on BNB Smart Chain. That figure represents about 60% of comparable agents across 26 networks. Even so, the chain still lacks a unified entry point for discovering, comparing and invoking those agents, and the hackathon is intended to close that discoverability gap.
Prize pool and partner support
The total prize pool exceeds $40,000 and is backed by BNB Chain together with ecosystem partners including TermiX, PancakeSwap, AltLayer and Altana.
- The winner of the main BNB Chain track will receive rewards worth 30,000 USDT.
- The winning project may also be adopted as the marketplace for BNB Agent Studio and incubated as a standalone product.
- TermiX is offering an additional 10,000 USDT for its partner track.
- PancakeSwap is providing 1,000 CAKE.
- AltLayer is contributing an 8004scan Pro plan and AltLLM credits.
- Altana is providing 50,000 XP.
Submission and judging timeline
Project submissions will be accepted from Aug. 5 through Sept. 9. The judging period will run from Sept. 9 to Sept. 23, and the list of winners will be announced on Nov. 5.
Target categories
BNB Chain said developers should build marketplaces around four types of agents: monitoring, grid trading, health factor management and yield optimization. It also suggested that submissions should be able to cover multiple categories.
