BNB traded at $620.15 on March 8, down 2.87% over the past 24 hours and sharply below its previous close of $647.88. The token still holds a market capitalization of about $86.7 billion, while daily trading volume stood near $1.16 billion. The move came as broader crypto market weakness weighed on large-cap digital assets.
Momentum signals are not aligned
Short-term technical readings point in different directions. The relative strength index is at 41.06, a level that suggests neutral momentum but with a bearish tilt. At the same time, MACD is showing early signs of recovery: the MACD line remains above the signal line, and the histogram hints at the start of a bullish crossover. The setup has improved slightly, but it is not yet a clean reversal signal.
Bollinger Bands place the price close to the middle band at around $621.90. That keeps BNB near a decision area. If the token fails to hold around current levels, attention is likely to shift quickly toward the lower support zone.
ADX keeps the downtrend in control
The stronger message comes from the trend strength indicator. ADX is at 42.14, a reading that confirms a firm downward trend is still shaping market structure. Sellers remain in control of direction, even if price action has started to stabilize over very short time frames.
The intraday low of $614.29 is the first support traders are watching, while near-term resistance sits around $622.08. A move below $614 could send BNB toward the lower Bollinger Band at $588.17, which has become the most important support area in the current setup. On the upside, a recovery above $630 would point to renewed buying interest, while stronger resistance is seen near the 50-day moving average at $724.37.
Volume stays far below the 30-day average
Trading activity adds another layer to the picture. Daily volume at $1.16 billion is well below the 30-day average of roughly $10.97 billion. That gap suggests the recent decline has come with weaker participation rather than aggressive liquidation. Price is down, but volume does not show a broad surge in selling pressure.
The source also noted that lower volume may indicate large institutional traders have not materially increased selling during the drop. For now, the market is centered on a few levels: whether BNB can defend the $614 area, whether $588.17 will be tested, and whether price can reclaim $630. Those reactions are likely to shape the next short-term move.
