Hong Kong-listed Boyaa Interactive International announced on March 22, 2026, that it will seek shareholder approval for a 12-month mandate to acquire up to $70 million in cryptocurrencies, primarily Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH). The board intends to use idle cash reserves for these purchases, framing the move as a core component of the group's Web3 strategic transformation.
As of the announcement, Boyaa already holds 4,092 BTC at an average price of $68,211 and 302 ETH at roughly $1,661 each. The newly acquired digital assets are planned to be deployed into the “Boyaa Network,” a public blockchain for Web3 games expected to launch in mid-2026.
Classified as Major Transaction Under HK Listing Rules
Because the potential $70 million acquisition aggregates with $80.51 million in crypto purchases made in 2025, the combined sum triggers a “major acquisition” classification under Hong Kong listing rules, requiring a formal shareholder vote. Boyaa expects to dispatch a circular to shareholders by April 24, 2026.
All acquisitions will occur on regulated local platforms, including Hashkey Exchange and OSL Exchange. The board stated: “The Potential Cryptocurrency Acquisitions represent an important step in the Group's Web3 strategic transformation.” Previously, Boyaa converted approximately $49.48 million worth of Ether into Bitcoin, securing its position as Asia's top corporate Bitcoin holder.
With 4,092 BTC valued at over $270 million at current market prices, Boyaa now leads Asian listed companies in Bitcoin treasury holdings. The firm's aggressive accumulation signals an emerging trend among traditional gaming firms pivoting toward Web3 by building both asset reserves and proprietary on-chain infrastructure.
