Brazil’s tokenized finance sector is accelerating at an institutional pace. VERT Capital, a structured-credit manager, has completed its second on-chain transaction on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and its EVM Sidechain, launching Brazil’s first tokenized FIDC (Fundos de Investimento em Direitos Creditórios) backed by public-pension receivables. The fund currently manages over BRL 200 million (~USD 40 million) and is projected to reach BRL 1 billion as institutional participation deepens. Ripple shared the milestone on Oct. 24, emphasizing that Brazil is moving from tokenization experiments to mainstream, regulated digital capital markets.
Second Tokenized Credit Milestone on XRP Ledger
Just three months after debuting its first on-chain structured credit platform on XRPL and its EVM Sidechain, VERT Capital has now closed its second tokenized transaction in partnership with Ripple. The new issuance expands the platform’s scope and introduces a novel asset class: a regulated FIDC backed by receivables from public pension payments, a high-credit-quality government-linked instrument. According to Ripple, “the new issuance brings a new class of regulated credit on-chain, showing that tokenization in Brazil is no longer an experiment, but an emerging market reality.”
Institutional Scale and Partnership with BYX
VERT Capital is collaborating with fintech BYX to tokenize additional funds by year-end, further integrating structured-credit origination with blockchain-based asset management. The current fund, already surpassing BRL 200 million in assets under management, is expected to grow to BRL 1 billion as more institutional investors — particularly from the pension and insurance sectors — adopt tokenized instruments. This growth trajectory underscores the accelerating institutional involvement in Brazil’s digital finance ecosystem.
Automation and Compliance Hand in Hand
VERT’s digital-credit platform leverages XRPL and its EVM Sidechain to record lifecycle events, documentation, and payments directly on-chain, enabling near-real-time auditability while fully complying with Brazilian securities regulations. Ripple highlighted that by operating within the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission’s LEAP regulatory sandbox initiative, VERT and Ripple demonstrate how public blockchain infrastructure can coexist with transparency, supervision, and interoperability. This model is set to become a blueprint for regulated tokenized markets across Latin America.
Brazil’s Tokenized Finance: From Pilot to Mainstream Reality
Brazil has emerged as Latin America’s largest tokenized finance market, with the CVM’s LEAP program providing a regulatory sandbox for tokenized assets. The VERT Capital milestone is the latest signal that institutional adoption of blockchain-based credit instruments is no longer hypothetical. Analysts note that the tokenization of pension receivables opens a new asset class for yield-seeking institutional investors, accelerating the maturation of Brazil’s digital capital markets. With Ripple’s ongoing support and VERT’s expanding pipeline, the path is set for further tokenized fund launches in the coming months.
