Bridgewater Associates, the hedge fund founded by Ray Dalio, increased its stake in Nvidia by more than 54% in the last quarter, making the chipmaker its largest single technology holding at 2.6% of the portfolio. The portfolio shift highlights continued institutional conviction in companies seen as central to the buildout of AI infrastructure.
Institutional capital continues to favor AI leaders
Bridgewater’s move stands out because Nvidia has become one of the clearest public-market proxies for the expansion of artificial intelligence computing. Beyond its identity as a semiconductor company, Nvidia is now widely viewed as a core supplier of the hardware powering AI training, inference, and large-scale cloud deployment. By raising its position so sharply, Bridgewater appears to be leaning further into that long-term theme.
Record earnings reinforce the investment case
The increased stake came alongside a strong set of results from Nvidia. The company reported $68.1 billion in revenue for Q4 of fiscal 2026, marking a 73% year-over-year increase. Its data center segment generated $62.3 billion, underscoring how demand for AI-related compute capacity continues to drive growth. Those figures helped reinforce Nvidia’s status as a pivotal player in the global AI infrastructure race.
Analysts still see upside ahead
Wall Street remains broadly constructive on the stock. Analyst targets range from $140 to $380, with an average target price of $269.82, implying about 33% upside from current levels. While the wide range reflects differing views on valuation and execution, the broader consensus still points to Nvidia as one of the market’s most important AI beneficiaries.
For crypto-focused readers, the development is also relevant as capital continues to concentrate around foundational computing infrastructure. Strong institutional interest in Nvidia suggests that investors still see long-duration value in the hardware layer supporting next-generation digital ecosystems, especially where AI demand is accelerating.
