Funding rates are commonly used in perpetual futures markets, where long and short positions exchange payments according to the direction of the rate. A positive or negative reading indicates the settlement direction for funding costs during the relevant period. In the data disclosed here, the network-wide 8-hour average is slightly below zero, while Binance and Gate remain positive and OKX and Bybit are negative.
