The Casper Association has introduced a multi-year technical roadmap designed to position the Casper Network as enterprise-grade infrastructure for regulated real-world asset tokenization and the emerging machine-to-machine economy. Announced on May 12 and presented by Casper Association President and CTO Michael Steuer at the Digital Finance Forum in Bermuda, the plan marks a strategic shift away from crypto-native hype and toward practical infrastructure for institutional and automated onchain activity.
The roadmap, referred to as the Casper Manifesto, outlines nine core initiatives aimed at reducing the friction that often limits blockchain adoption in real business environments. At the center of the strategy are support for tokenized real-world assets, stronger alignment with traditional financial requirements, machine-driven micropayments, and a forward-looking approach to quantum-safe cryptography.
Building a Bridge to Ethereum and Traditional Finance
One of the most important components of the roadmap is full EVM compatibility. Casper has historically been built on WebAssembly, but by adding compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, the network plans to let developers bring over existing Ethereum-based contracts, tools, and workflows without major changes. That includes familiar developer resources such as Solidity and user-facing tools like MetaMask.
The association described this approach as a model of one chain, two execution environments, and zero fragmentation. The goal is to preserve Casper’s existing architecture while opening the network to the far broader Ethereum developer ecosystem. Michael Steuer said the design choices made from day one allow Casper to support different key algorithms and that the objective is to secure the ecosystem before quantum safety becomes an industry-wide emergency. That stance may appeal particularly to institutions and long-horizon asset issuers, especially in the context of tokenized assets that may need to remain secure for many years. Phased Rollout Through 2027
The association said the roadmap initiatives will be rolled out in phases through 2027. After the expected near-term launch of X402 micropayments, Casper plans to deliver EVM compatibility and support for compliant security tokens in late 2026. Features related to transaction privacy, along with the final deployment of quantum-resistant algorithms, are currently scheduled for completion by 2027.
This roadmap builds on an earlier technical milestone. In mid-2025, Casper released Casper 2.0, an upgrade that introduced deterministic finality and a multi-VM execution layer.
