Chainlink CCIP Expands to Avalanche and Polygon

Chainlink has pushed its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) infrastructure onto the Avalanche and Polygon networks, and it also rolled out a cross-chain token standard. The idea is simple: give users a cleaner way to handle programmable token transfers between those two networks.

The integration is aimed mainly at developers, giving them another infrastructure route for moving tokens across major networks. And the point is to cut dependence on brittle wrapped assets or one-off bridges. According to Bitcoinist, the CCIP model is meant to provide a more standardized framework that helps limit wrapping risks in cross-chain transfers.
