Chainlink has introduced a new on-chain market data service called 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams, giving decentralized applications continuous access to price data for U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds. The product spans regular trading hours, pre-market, after-hours, and overnight sessions, addressing a long-standing mismatch between fixed stock market schedules and always-on blockchain infrastructure.

According to Chainlink, the service is already live on more than 40 blockchains and covers all major U.S. equities and ETFs. Previously, many on-chain equity products depended on limited updates tied mainly to standard U.S. market hours, leaving protocols exposed to stale pricing during extended sessions. The new streams are designed to reduce that problem with sub-second updates throughout off-hours trading windows.

More complete market context for on-chain finance

Beyond midpoint pricing, the feeds include bid and ask prices, volume, last trade prices, and indicators showing whether the market is in a regular, pre-market, post-market, or overnight state. Each update is cryptographically signed, allowing protocols to verify the integrity of the data before using it in production environments.

This added market context can help on-chain platforms manage liquidations, funding rates, and margin requirements more accurately during extended sessions, when asset prices may continue moving even outside standard exchange hours. For DeFi products linked to equities, continuous and verifiable pricing has been a major infrastructure gap.

Early integrations across trading platforms

Several platforms have already integrated the 24/5 equity streams. Lighter, currently the second-largest perpetual futures DEX by volume, is using the service to extend equity perpetuals beyond regular trading hours. BitMEX has also adopted the streams to support equity derivatives with real-time risk controls during extended sessions.

Other adopters include ApeX, HelloTrade, Decibel, Monaco, Opinion Labs, and Orderly Network. These integrations support a range of use cases, including equity perpetuals, prediction markets, synthetic stocks, and lending products tied to U.S. equities.

The launch builds on Chainlink’s earlier push into real-time equity data and reflects rising demand for stock exposure in decentralized markets. With U.S. equities representing an asset class worth around $80 trillion, Chainlink is positioning continuous, verifiable market data as a key building block for bringing traditional financial assets further on-chain. The company said the streams are available immediately, along with documentation and developer integration tools.
