Chainlink has revealed a series of partnerships with major financial institutions, including J.P. Morgan's Kinexys, Ondo Finance, ANZ Bank, SBI Group, Emirates NBD, and Wenia (Bancolombia Group), testing tokenized finance applications. The projects focus on connecting traditional finance with blockchain networks through cross-chain interoperability.
JPMorgan Kinexys and Ondo Finance Complete Cross-Chain DvP
According to Chainlink, Kinexys by J.P. Morgan and Ondo Finance executed a cross-chain Delivery versus Payment (DvP) transaction. The test exchanged Ondo Chain's Short-Term U.S. Government Treasuries Fund (OUSG) as the asset leg, while Kinexys Digital Payments handled the payment leg through its permissioned blockchain. Chainlink Runtime Environment coordinated atomic settlement across both networks, maintaining security, compliance, and scalability.
ANZ Bank Uses CCIP for Cross-Border Stablecoin Settlement
ANZ Bank demonstrated a cross-border settlement using Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). The bank issued Australian dollar and New Zealand dollar-backed stablecoins and used them to purchase a tokenized asset across currencies and borders, bypassing traditional correspondent banking rails.
SBI Group Embraces Chainlink as Core Infrastructure
Japan's SBI Digital Markets (SBIDM) adopted Chainlink CCIP for moving tokenized assets across public and private blockchains. It also uses CCIP Private Transactions to protect sensitive data like transaction amounts and counterparty details. SBIDM is building a full digital asset platform covering issuance, purchase, settlement, and secondary trading. Separately, SBI Group and Chainlink signed a strategic partnership focusing on tokenized real-world assets, NAV data, PvP transactions, and stablecoin reserve verification across Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.
Emirates NBD and Wenia Join the Chainlink Ecosystem
Emirates NBD signed an MOU at Abu Dhabi Finance Week to include Chainlink in its Digital Asset Lab, alongside members like PwC, Fireblocks, R3, and Chainalysis. Meanwhile, Wenia, the digital asset arm of Bancolombia Group, uses Chainlink's Proof of Reserve to verify Colombian peso reserves backing its COPW stablecoin. The system is integrated directly into COPW's minting process to prevent issuance without sufficient backing.
Chainlink has not disclosed specific launch timelines for these integrations. However, the growing list of bank partnerships signals that traditional finance is moving beyond exploration toward live blockchain-based settlement infrastructure.
