Chainlink activity surged sharply over the past year, processing $8.23 trillion in blockchain transaction value across DeFi and cross-chain systems. The network's cumulative secured value climbed from $22.08 trillion in May 2025 to $30.31 trillion across supported ecosystems, according to BSC News.
CCIP and Data Feeds Secure $110 Billion
As a decentralized oracle infrastructure provider, Chainlink enables smart contracts to access external data for executing DeFi functions. Its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is increasingly adopted by tokenized asset platforms for secure transfers. Chainlink stated that CCIP and data feeds currently secure roughly $110 billion, reflecting growing institutional interest in reliable oracle systems before deploying capital on-chain.
LINK Consolidates Around $9 After Repeated Support Defense
LINK traded near $9 after weeks of compressed price movement. The asset repeatedly defended support around the $8.84-$8.86 range, with buyers absorbing downside pressure during intraday weakness. The chart showed three phases: early uncertainty with sharp reversals, then a push from upper-$8 levels to resistance above $9 with trading volume exceeding $320 million, and finally consolidation above the breakout zone while staying below $9.05 resistance.
Funding Rates Turn Neutral as Leverage Fades
The OI-weighted funding rate chart revealed shifting trader behavior. When LINK rallied from lows to around $30 in earlier months, funding rates spiked above 0.05% as long traders paid premiums. Despite a prolonged decline back to single digits, funding rarely turned deeply negative. Recently, funding stabilized close to neutral while price declines slowed. Neutral funding reflects balanced positioning between bulls and bears, with market leverage substantially lower than in previous speculative periods.
