Chainlink has introduced Chainlink Rewards, a new community engagement initiative designed to encourage participation across its ecosystem through token-based incentives. The program is being launched in collaboration with Space and Time, a member of the Chainlink Build program, which will allocate 4% of its total SXT token supply — equal to 200 million SXT — to eligible LINK stakers.
First pilot phase starts with 100 million SXT
The first phase of the initiative, called Season Genesis, is scheduled to begin on May 8, 2025 and will run for 90 days. During this pilot period, the first 100 million SXT tokens will be made available for claiming. The phased structure suggests Chainlink is testing how the model performs before expanding it further.
Eligibility focuses on active LINK stakers
According to the announcement, token claims will prioritize active LINK stakers, with eligibility based in part on their staking history. This approach signals that the program is intended to reward users who have shown consistent participation in the network, rather than short-term or opportunistic activity.
Broader reach for ecosystem projects
Beyond community incentives, Chainlink said the program is also designed to help ecosystem projects increase their visibility and deepen collaboration. By working with Build participants, Chainlink Rewards gives partner projects a direct path to the network’s established user base. For Space and Time, the SXT distribution may serve as a way to expand awareness and engagement within the wider Chainlink ecosystem.
Overall, Chainlink Rewards represents more than a token claim event. It is also a broader experiment in ecosystem coordination, long-term user incentives, and community activation. As Season Genesis goes live, the market will be watching whether the model can boost participation among LINK stakers and provide a template for future ecosystem campaigns.
