Checkmate Token picked up immediate market attention on April 2 as Binance Alpha opened its airdrop event for eligible users and Coinbase prepared to launch CHECK-USD spot trading on the same day. The overlap gave the token both distribution and exchange visibility right at launch.
Binance Alpha sets claim threshold and timing
Binance Wallet said users could start claiming the Binance Alpha airdrop and trading at 12:30 UTC on April 2. According to the official notice, participants needed at least 242 Binance Alpha Points to join. Claims were handled on a first-come, first-served basis until the reward pool was exhausted or the event expired.
Eligible users were allowed to claim 500 CHECK. Binance also said the reward was tied to its Alphapoints system, which grants active users access to selected early-stage token events. The rules were specific: each claim consumed 15 points, users had to confirm the request on the Alpha Events page within 24 hours, and if rewards remained, the threshold would drop by 5 points every 5 minutes.
Coinbase adds same-day CHECK-USD trading
Coinbase’s exchange status page showed that spot trading for Checkmate and Sign would go live on April 2, 2026. The CHECK-USD and SIGN-USD pairs were scheduled to open at or after 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time, depending on liquidity conditions. Coinbase said the assets would be available on coinbase.com, the Coinbase app, and Coinbase Advanced, while institutional users could access them through Coinbase Exchange.
The listing followed an earlier roadmap update. Coinbase had already added Checkmate on the Base network, along with its contract address, giving traders notice that a formal launch could come once trading support was in place.
Tokenomics show reward-heavy allocation
According to the project website, CHECK has a total supply of 1 billion tokens. The largest portion, 39.38%, is allocated to player rewards, with 5% unlocked at token generation and the remainder vesting over 36 months. Ecosystem and treasury allocations account for 20%, with only 0.5% unlocked at launch.
Investors receive 13.62% with a 6-month cliff, while the team gets 10% with a 12-month cliff. Liquidity makes up 7% and is fully unlocked at launch. Operational expenses and advisors each receive 4%, and 2% is assigned to Kaito Launchpad, also fully unlocked at launch.
Early trading data shows strong debut interest
CoinMarketCap data showed CHECK trading near $0.05457, up about 61.59% over 24 hours. Reported volume was roughly $10.36 million, with market capitalization near $18 million. Those figures pointed to heavy first-day attention rather than an established trading pattern.
Based on the disclosed launch setup, early price action centered on three factors: new exchange access, potential selling from the airdrop, and the depth of initial liquidity. Binance Alpha’s points-based distribution and Coinbase’s same-day spot listing formed the core structure of the token’s debut.
