Cipher Digital, a Nasdaq-listed digital infrastructure company, released its business update for the first quarter of 2026, reporting $35 million in revenue and an adjusted EBITDA of negative $48 million. The company described 2026 as a pivotal year for executing its transformation strategy, with a focus on scaling infrastructure, strengthening liquidity, and expanding into high-performance computing.
Data center buildout remains on schedule
According to the update, construction at the Barber Lake and Black Pearl data centers is progressing as planned. These projects remain central to Cipher’s infrastructure roadmap as it continues to build out capacity. In addition, the company said it signed a lease agreement in the first quarter for a third AI data center campus with an investment-grade hyperscale client, underscoring its push into AI-related infrastructure services.
$200 million revolving credit line supports expansion
To improve financial flexibility and fund upcoming spending, Cipher also secured a $200 million revolving credit facility backed by multiple global financial institutions. For a capital-intensive business centered on digital infrastructure, the new financing is expected to support liquidity needs while giving the company more room to execute on near-term development plans.
2026 positioned as a transformation year
The latest update suggests Cipher Digital is accelerating its transition toward broader high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. Alongside ongoing data center construction, the new AI campus lease and fresh credit line indicate a strategy aimed at expanding beyond existing operations and capturing demand tied to AI and hyperscale computing. While revenue reached $35 million in the quarter, profitability remains under pressure, making project execution and capital deployment key factors to watch in the months ahead.
