Circle said its open blockchain network Arc, designed for global financial markets, is scheduled to launch on public mainnet on Sept 16. The network is already running on a private mainnet and has drawn more than 100 institutional and ecosystem participants.

BlackRock, DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation), Galaxy, Global Payments, ICE, Mastercard, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo Corporation and Visa will serve as Arc genesis validators, taking part in network security and governance.

BlackRock plans to deploy its institutional dollar digital liquidity fund BUIDL on Arc. DTCC, meanwhile, is advancing a tokenization and settlement integration with Arc that would support tokenizing assets held at DTC onto the network for stablecoin-based on-chain settlement.

Circle also intends to launch a supporting application framework, AI tools and tokenized asset issuance and management capabilities on Arc.
