Circle Chief Product and Technology Officer Nikhil Chandhok said in a Sept. 16 interview with Bankless that Ethereum remains the largest blockchain for USDC, and shifting existing activity and USDC from Ethereum to Arc would not expand the overall market on its own. His comments framed Arc not as a venue for relocating current usage, but as a network that needs to unlock new demand. Chandhok said he expects AI agents to become independent economic participants. In that setup, agents would need a way to prove what work they completed online. He said Arc is intended to let those agents record their activity and use cryptographic proofs to verify both their work history and their real economic output. The goal, according to Chandhok, is to create new forms of on-chain demand rather than rely on migration from Ethereum alone.

Circle Chief Product and Technology Officer Nikhil Chandhok said in a Sept. 16 interview with Bankless that Ethereum is still the largest blockchain for USDC, and that moving existing activity and USDC from Ethereum to Arc alone would not expand the overall market.

Chandhok said the bigger question is whether Arc can create new demand. He argued that AI agents will become independent economic participants and will need to show what work they have completed online.

He said Arc is meant to let agents record their activity and use cryptographic proofs to verify their work history and actual economic output, with the aim of creating new on-chain demand.
