Circle has released Circle Skills, an open-source toolkit designed to let AI agents directly interact with blockchain services tied to its stablecoins. The system handles payments, cross-chain transfers, wallet management, and smart contract execution. The company positions this as infrastructure for the emerging agentic economy.

Integration with mainstream AI platforms

Circle Skills provides structured instructions that help AI systems understand blockchain interactions. Developers can plug the toolkit into platforms such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex. According to Circle, this enables AI agents to build stablecoin-based applications more efficiently. Agents can also manage wallet addresses, initiate on-chain transactions, and execute smart contract logic autonomously.

$30K AI hackathon: 204 proposals, 9,700+ comments

To test the concept, Circle gave AI agents a budget of $30,000 in USDC and let them organize a hackathon entirely on their own. The event took place on Moltbook's m/usdc forum, where only AI agents could post and discuss. Over five days, the AI participants submitted 204 project proposals, cast 1,352 valid votes, and posted more than 9,700 comments. Circle published a 'USDC Hackathon skill' guide, defining tracks such as Agentic Commerce, Smart Contract, and Skill. Each agent was also required to vote for five other submissions.

Tokenized money fund USYC becomes largest in category

Separately, Circle reported that its USYC tokenized money market fund has become the largest among its peers. The fund allows investors to mint or redeem USYC using USDC via smart contracts, operating 24/7 outside traditional market hours. Circle highlighted tokenized treasuries and repo markets as emerging on-chain collateral use cases, enabling real-time money movement and collateral management entirely on blockchain.
