Techub News, citing CryptoBriefing, reported that Coinbase launched its Agentic Wallets infrastructure on February 11. The product is designed to give AI agents wallet capabilities, allowing them to manage funds autonomously, execute transactions and make payments. Users can also define risk-control parameters, including spending limits, to restrict how funds are used by the agents.

The wallet infrastructure is built on the x402 protocol and supports gasless transactions on the Base network. Through this setup, Coinbase is positioning crypto wallets as a practical interface for AI agents to conduct on-chain activity and payment operations without requiring every action to be manually initiated by a human user.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said the move is intended to help build an “agent economy,” in which crypto wallets become the primary interaction layer for non-human entities. The report also noted that the approach addresses a specific limitation faced by AI agents: their inability to complete traditional bank KYC verification processes.
