Coinbase has upgraded Coinbase Business, its enterprise-grade payments product, with a new set of capabilities aimed at simplifying crypto acceptance for merchants. The biggest change is support for AI Agent payments. Coinbase Business now works with the open machine-payment standard x402, meaning businesses that already use Checkout can directly accept transactions initiated by AI agents. When an AI agent pays, funds are settled instantly in USDC to the business account; those funds can be used to earn yield or withdrawn at any time. Coinbase has also added USDT payment support. Alongside that, there are four other features: reusable payment links let a business share one link multiple times, with controls to limit usage, pause or disable it; flexible pricing supports minimum, maximum or open-ended amounts, designed for donations, tips and usage-based billing; a product catalog lets merchants enter product details once and reuse them across payment links, Checkout and invoices; and buyer information collection gathers name, email and shipping address during the payment flow to cut down on manual order processing. The broader aim, according to Coinbase, is to make accepting cryptocurrency payments more convenient for businesses.
