According to a MarsBit market analysis item, Coinbase is redefining the group of companies it competes with. The report says Coinbase is adding access to U.S. stocks, options, derivatives, prediction markets and unlisted assets, using those product lines to support a transition from a crypto exchange into a full-asset brokerage platform. The shift broadens its scope from crypto-asset trading to a wider set of asset classes and transaction scenarios.
From Crypto Exchange to Super Financial Account
On the product side, the report also notes that Coinbase has introduced an AI investment adviser, a global liquidity pool and a financial card. Together, these features are presented as part of a “super financial account” that covers trading, payments and spending. Instead of functioning only as a trading venue, the account structure links asset access, fund movement and consumer use within the same product system.
The report states that as Coinbase expands its product boundaries, its competitive focus is also changing. The company is no longer being framed only against other crypto exchanges; it is moving toward competition with traditional brokers such as Robinhood. Coinbase is also exploring next-generation financial infrastructure driven by AI Agents, placing AI advisory tools, multi-asset access and account-based financial services inside one strategic framework.
