According to MarsBit’s market analysis, Coinbase is reshaping its competitive map by moving beyond the narrow definition of a crypto exchange. The company is adding access to U.S. stocks, options, derivatives, prediction markets and unlisted assets, creating a product path that points toward a full-asset brokerage model rather than a platform centered only on crypto trading and custody.

From Exchange Account to Super Financial Account

On the product side, Coinbase has introduced AI investment advisory services, a global liquidity pool and a financial card. Together, these services form what the analysis describes as a “super financial account” that covers trading, payments and consumption. The account structure is designed around multiple asset categories while also extending usage into payment and spending scenarios.

This shift also redefines the companies Coinbase is competing with. As U.S. equities, options and derivatives enter the platform, the focus of competition moves away from other crypto exchanges alone and turns toward traditional brokerages such as Robinhood. At the same time, Coinbase is exploring next-generation financial infrastructure driven by AI Agents, bringing artificial intelligence into the framework of advisory, account and trading services.
