San Francisco-based crypto firm Coinbase has launched a new web application for its wallet, designed to offer users a unified platform for managing onchain assets across multiple wallets and blockchains. The app aims to eliminate the friction of manual spreadsheets and constant tab switching.
All-in-One Portfolio View: Supported Wallets and Chains
The newly introduced Coinbase Wallet web app allows users to connect multiple wallets — including smart wallets, Metamask, and Phantom — and view their cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and decentralized finance (DeFi) positions in a single dashboard. This consolidated 360-degree view helps users track their holdings without juggling between different interfaces.
The application supports trading of over 2 million tokens across eight different blockchains. Key features include a comprehensive portfolio overview, the ability to link various third-party wallets, and tools for creators to mint and share NFTs directly on the platform. Coinbase emphasized that the app is designed to reduce inefficiencies and frustrations commonly faced by crypto users.
Smart Wallet Integration: Gasless Transactions and Seamless Onboarding
Coinbase has integrated its smart wallet technology into the new app, enabling gasless transactions on select mints and direct onchain payments from Coinbase accounts. “With the simplicity of smart wallets, users can get onchain and engage in minting, creating, or trading in seconds,” the company explained to Bitcoin.com News. This move is part of Coinbase’ broader strategy to consolidate its onchain products and enhance user experience.
The launch comes amid growing adoption of Web3 applications, where users often struggle with fragmented wallets and complex workflows. By providing a unified entry point, Coinbase aims to lower barriers for both newcomers and experienced users. Industry observers believe this could strengthen Coinbase’ position in the wallet market and attract more traditional users to the onchain ecosystem.
