According to a MarsBit market analysis item, Coinbase is redefining the set of companies it competes with. Rather than being described only as a crypto exchange, the company is moving toward an all-asset brokerage model by adding access to U.S. equities, options, derivatives, prediction markets and unlisted assets.
The shift is paired with a broader account strategy. Coinbase has introduced an AI investment adviser, a global liquidity pool and a financial card, bringing trading, payments and consumption into one product framework. In the report’s wording, this points to a “super financial account” designed to cover more than the buying and selling of crypto assets.
Within that structure, Coinbase’s competitive focus is moving toward Robinhood and other traditional brokerages. The report also notes that Coinbase is exploring next-generation financial infrastructure driven by AI Agents, extending its narrative from a single trading venue to a broader financial account and infrastructure layer.
