Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said in a post on X that his team, working with x402 and @CoinbaseDev, has built a feature inside Slack that lets users ask an agent questions directly. If a complete answer requires a paid service, the agent can purchase that service on its own and return the answer in the same message. Armstrong said the setup only supports small payments and does not handle subscriptions. He framed the tool as a way to remove internal friction around low-cost information requests, so employees do not need to file budget requests, submit expense reports, or wait days for approval over spending a few dollars. The feature is designed to speed up access to better answers within Slack while keeping the payment scope limited to micropayments.

Odaily reported that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said in a post on X that his team, together with x402 and @CoinbaseDev, has built a feature in Slack that lets users ask an agent questions directly.

If a full answer requires a paid service, the agent will buy that service automatically. The feature only supports small payments and does not support subscriptions, and the answer is returned in the same message.

Armstrong said the setup means people no longer need to submit budget requests, fill out expense reimbursement forms, or wait several days for approval over spending a few dollars to get better and faster information.
