Indian crypto exchange CoinDCX has rolled out CoinDCX Zero, offering zero brokerage on crypto options trading — a move seen as a major shift for the country's digital asset derivatives market. The service is designed to reduce trading costs, boost profit potential, and provide 24/7 market access.
How Zero Brokerage Works
By eliminating brokerage fees entirely, CoinDCX Zero lowers the entry barrier for retail traders. Industry observers say this could drive higher participation in derivatives, expanding India's crypto trading ecosystem.
Founder Sumit Gupta had teased the update earlier on X, sharing an image with a large "0." On March 11, the exchange's official account posted a short video confirming zero-fee options for Indian users.
Relief Under Heavy Taxation
India's crypto sector faces a 30% tax on digital asset profits and a 1% TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) on each transaction. These rules have long been criticized for dampening trading activity. CoinDCX Zero aims to offset some financial pressure by removing brokerage costs.
Another Indian platform, WazirX, previously introduced a similar model — WazirX ZERO — where users pay a flat monthly fee of ₹99 for unlimited trades across hundreds of tokens, bypassing per-trade charges. Zero-fee models are gaining traction in India.
AI and Crypto Convergence
In a March 12 post, Gupta highlighted that AI is reshaping software development — 41% of code is now AI-generated, saving developers 30%–60% of task time. He noted that AI-driven agents are automating portfolio management and executing real-time trading decisions across chains.
CoinDCX teams are running an internal Crypto×AI hackathon to incubate features that may later appear in the exchange's products. Potential upgrades include AI-based trade signals, advanced order types, and simplified derivatives access for beginners. The exchange has already revamped its interface and professional tools, signaling more tech-driven improvements ahead.
With zero brokerage plus AI exploration, CoinDCX Zero could further activate retail participation and shape the next innovation cycle in India's crypto landscape.
