HyperPlay Labs unveiled CoinFello at DevConnect, a self-sovereign AI agent that lets users execute and automate any smart contract via chat. Built on EigenCloud and MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit, public release expected Q1 2026.

HyperPlay Labs has announced the launch of CoinFello at DevConnect in Buenos Aires, positioning it as the world's first self-sovereign AI agent app for using and automating any smart contract protocol. The application provides a chat interface that understands on-chain context, executes user intents, and automates interactions—all in plain language.

CoinFello is built on EigenCloud, a verifiable cloud resting on EigenLayer, and Consensys' MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit. Users connect their existing MetaMask wallet or create a new one within the app, keeping full custody of funds while delegating permissions to the AI agent.

UX Fixes for Mainstream DeFi Adoption

The agent addresses key pain points: discovering suitable DeFi protocols, abstracting gas fees, explaining smart contract logic in plain English, and automating cross-chain transactions. For instance, users can ask CoinFello to automatically reallocate funds to prevent liquidations during black swan events—the press release cited October 2025 when over $1.7 billion in liquidations occurred across Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks.

jacobc.eth, Founder and CEO of CoinFello and former Operations Lead at MetaMask, said: “Self-sovereign AI solves many of the fundamental user experience problems for interacting with dApps and DeFi protocols.” He added that the agent protects funds, improves protocol discoverability, and simplifies UX.

EigenCloud and Consensys Backing

Sreeram Kannan, Founder of EigenCloud, emphasized that the partnership delivers “verifiable, deterministic, and self-sovereign AI” with reliable outputs to prevent non-attributable manipulation. Ryan McPeck of Consensys highlighted that the MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit enables fine-grained permissions for safe AI execution on behalf of users.

Instead of visiting a dApp website, users tell the agent commands like “sell my meme coins to buy more ETH” or “use liquidity to prevent loan liquidation.” CoinFello presents a summary of the proposed action for user approval before execution. Complexities such as gas fees, chain selection, token swaps, and bridging are hidden.

CoinFello is currently in private alpha, with a public release targeted for Q1 2026. HyperPlay Labs also operates HyperPlay, a Web3 gaming distribution platform. EigenCloud has over 190 AVSs in development and 40+ live on mainnet, backed by $14+ billion in staked assets.
