CoinGecko’s 2026 Spot CEX Report says MEXC raised its spot market share from 5% to 9% in two years, posted $95.9 billion in spot volume in February 2026, and ranked first in new token listings with 1,333 additions.

CoinGecko’s Spot CEX Report 2026 says MEXC increased its spot market share from 5% to 9% over the past two years. The report also says the exchange recorded $95.9 billion in spot trading volume in February 2026, placing it second globally on that measure.

Spot share rose from 5% to 9%

The study reviewed 12 major centralized exchanges across spot volume, market share trends, token listings, and reserve holdings. In CoinGecko’s data, MEXC moved from a 5% share at the start of 2024 to 9% in 2026. That shift put the platform among the largest exchanges covered in the report, with spot activity staying near the top tier.

1,333 new spot tokens listed since January 2025

Token coverage was another area where MEXC stood out. Since January 2025, the exchange has listed 1,333 new spot tokens, or about 100 new assets per month. CoinGecko ranked it first by new token listings among the 12 centralized exchanges in the report.

To frame that number, CoinGecko tracked 7,847 newly launched tokens across the wider market during the same period. MEXC listed about 17% of them, while the report says most major rivals captured less than 5%. That gap points to a much faster listing pace than the industry baseline described in the study.

Low fees paired with broad asset selection

CoinGecko also highlighted fee structure. MEXC applies a 0.00% maker fee and a 0.10% taker fee. By comparison, the report says competing major exchanges generally set baseline fees at 0.10% or higher, with some reaching 0.50%.

The platform’s listed asset count reached 2,350, according to the source material. The report links that breadth, together with the low-fee model, to continuing user growth and stronger appeal for traders looking for wider token selection.

Reserve value up 274.6% and Guardian Fund above 100 million USDT

On reserves, CoinGecko says MEXC’s reserve value grew by 274.6% between January 2024 and February 2026. The report describes that expansion as a sign of faster capital inflows from both institutional and retail participants.

The exchange also launched its Guardian Fund in June 2025, with more than 100 million USDT. In the source text, that fund is presented as a protection layer against cybersecurity threats and technical disruptions.

The release says MEXC now serves more than 40 million users across 170+ markets. It also states that the original article was a press release for informational purposes and not financial advice.
