According to ChainCatcher, citing data from Coinglass, total liquidations across the crypto market reached $77.9471 million over the past 24 hours. Of that amount, long positions accounted for $33.1899 million, while short positions accounted for $44.7572 million. The reported short liquidation amount was higher than the long liquidation amount during this period.
Bitcoin and Ethereum liquidation breakdown
For Bitcoin, long liquidations totaled $3.1839 million, while short liquidations reached $12.6569 million. For Ethereum, long liquidations stood at $5.3902 million, and short liquidations reached $6.6514 million. In both Bitcoin and Ethereum, the reported short liquidation figures were higher than the corresponding long liquidation figures.
Coinglass data also showed that 54,048 traders worldwide were liquidated over the latest 24-hour period. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Bybit in the BTCUSDT trading pair, with a value of $2.0132 million. Liquidation generally refers to the forced closing of a leveraged position when margin requirements are no longer met; the figures above describe completed liquidation events within the stated reporting window.
