According to ChainCatcher, citing Coinglass data, total liquidations across the crypto market reached $146 million over the past 24 hours. Long liquidations amounted to $51.1152 million, while short liquidations totaled $95.1744 million. Based on these figures, short positions accounted for a larger share of forced liquidations during the period.

Bitcoin and Ethereum liquidation breakdown

By asset, Bitcoin-related long liquidations stood at $9.2538 million, while Bitcoin short liquidations reached $32.1112 million. For Ethereum, long liquidations were $9.6305 million, and short liquidations came in at $26.5777 million. In both Bitcoin and Ethereum markets, the reported value of short liquidations was higher than that of long liquidations.

Coinglass data also shows that 66,381 traders were liquidated globally over the same 24-hour period. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Binance in the BTCUSDT trading pair, with a value of $3.435 million. In leveraged crypto trading, liquidation generally refers to the forced closing of a position when margin is insufficient, and Coinglass data is commonly used to track clearing activity in crypto derivatives markets.
