CoinW said it will host an online summit at 20:00 Beijing time on Sept. 28, 2026, to mark its ninth anniversary, bringing together company executives and ecosystem partners including Alibaba Cloud, SlowMist and VeChain.
The exchange said the event will focus on security and ecosystem development, while reviewing its nine-year trajectory and laying out its next-stage strategy. CoinW said it has expanded into more than 200 countries and regions since launching in 2017, has more than 20 million registered users, and ranks among the top three derivatives exchanges on CoinGecko.
Anniversary theme centers on the platform’s next form
In its announcement, CoinW framed the anniversary around the theme "Will Be The 9EXT." The company said the idea is to turn the accumulation of the past nine years into capabilities for the next phase, with continued product iteration, ecosystem restructuring and stronger security foundations.
CoinW said digital-asset trading is moving beyond simple spot buying and selling as AI Agent-driven autonomous trading begins to emerge and traditional financial assets move on-chain at a faster pace. It said the company has been expanding its trading scenarios in areas such as TradFi and Smart Money.
The exchange argued that competition among trading platforms is shifting away from pure depth and product count toward whether a platform can become the main entry point linking users to a wider range of assets and services. In that context, CoinW said it aims to evolve from a trading platform into an ecosystem platform, and then toward what it described as a crypto "super app."
CWC presented as the connective layer for the ecosystem
CoinW said it upgraded its platform token to CoinW Coin, or CWC, in July 2026. According to the company, CWC connects platform benefits, trading scenarios, ecosystem services and partner networks across multiple segments including trading, on-chain infrastructure, community governance, AI tools and real-world assets, or RWA.
The company described CWC as a key link between users and the broader ecosystem, as well as a mechanism for coordinating value across different parts of the business. CoinW also set out its own description of the model it wants to build: "AI creates Alpha, views create trades, and CWC captures value."
Security and trust remain a core part of the pitch
CoinW said it continues to build what it called a defense-in-depth security structure combining independent defense with open collaboration. The company listed a self-developed real-time risk control engine, a zero-trust security architecture, self-developed MPC wallet technology, HSM, security chips and strict hot-cold wallet separation among the measures used to protect user assets.
It also said it works with international security firms Hacken and CertiK on penetration testing and wallet-system audits, while running a bug bounty program for white-hat researchers worldwide.
CoinW added that it was named "Europe’s Most Trusted Crypto Exchange" at Next Block Expo in 2026. The company said the recognition considered security, transparency, Proof of Reserves and compliance.
Brand push extends into global sports partnerships
CoinW said its branding efforts accelerated in 2026. In April, the company announced that Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modrić had become its global brand ambassador. It later said it had reached a brand partnership with mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor, who also became a global brand ambassador for CoinW.
The exchange tied those partnerships to its own brand narrative. In its description, Modrić represents stability, resilience and continuous evolution, while McGregor represents initiative and the willingness to break established boundaries. CoinW said those two profiles mirror its own emphasis on enduring through market cycles while still pushing for new growth.
The company said it is using broader expressions through sports and culture to build deeper links between crypto culture and the mainstream world.
Executive comments on the next decade
CoinW Chief Communications Officer Yoka said, "Nine years is a milestone worth looking back on, but more importantly, it is a time to think about where we go after nine years. As trading, on-chain infrastructure, AI and RWA continue to converge, what users need is no longer an isolated trading tool, but a crypto application ecosystem that can connect assets, products, services and opportunities. We hope to actively shape the platform form of the next stage through product innovation, ecosystem expansion and security building. In the next decade, we look forward to exploring more possibilities in the crypto world together with users globally."
CoinW said it has built a global user base, continues to refine its products and infrastructure, and is still investing in security, compliance and user trust. Going forward, the company said it plans to use CWC as the link connecting trading, assets, services and ecosystem partners while expanding the boundaries of the platform.
Other details included in the release
In the company profile section, CoinW said it was founded in 2017 and had surpassed $5 billion in average daily trading volume as of October 2025. It also repeated that it ranked No. 3 in CoinGecko futures rankings and had more than 20 million registered users.
The company said it has continued to optimize its product structure and launch multiple independently operated innovative product lines. It also said it has expanded brand influence through sponsorships tied to international sports events.

The release ended with a risk disclaimer stating that digital-asset trading carries high risk and that users are fully responsible for their own financial decisions.
