Cosmos Labs has confirmed a security flaw in its Cosmos EVM module and advised validators on affected chains to stop producing blocks. Three blockchains using the module have now disclosed impact from the issue. KiiChain said an attacker exploited the vulnerability 18 times on Aug. 22 and stole 148,326,583.15 KII tokens. Validators then halted the network at block height 9355723. TAC also paused its network the same day after an attacker drained a single account. MANTRA said it had previously paused because of the upstream dependency issue, but added that only two team-managed wallets were affected and no user funds were lost. The network said it fixed the flaw by upgrading to Cosmos-EVM module version 8.4.0 and has since resumed operations. Cosmos Labs said it will publish a full report after the incident is resolved. The update was carried by Techub, citing BeInCrypto.
