Crossmint said it has partnered with credit fintech Tala to launch an onchain credit service aimed at emerging markets worldwide. The tie-up has two parts. First, Tala has launched a new wallet experience in Mexico for more than 1 million active users, built on Crossmint’s smart wallet and stablecoin payments infrastructure. Second, Crossmint has integrated Tala’s Credit-as-a-Service into its platform, allowing fintech apps that use Crossmint wallets to add credit functionality. Under the arrangement, Tala provides capital and an AI-native risk model, while Crossmint handles the collection wallet and repayment rails. The announcement was made by Crossmint in a post on X.

Two parts to the partnership

According to Crossmint, the partnership includes two components. Tala has launched a new wallet experience in Mexico for more than 1 million active users, built on Crossmint’s smart wallet and stablecoin payments infrastructure.

Crossmint has also integrated Tala’s Credit-as-a-Service into its platform, allowing any fintech app that uses Crossmint wallets to plug in credit features.

Division of roles

Under the setup, Tala provides the funding and an AI-native risk model. Crossmint provides the collection wallet and repayment rails.
