According to Cointelegraph, billionaire Christopher Harborne, who has close ties to stablecoin issuer Tether, and BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo jointly donated $9.4 million to Nigel Farage's Reform UK party in the first quarter of 2026. The donation was publicly disclosed and provided a major financial boost to the right-wing populist party.

Reform UK, which has positioned itself as a pro-cryptocurrency party, received one of its largest single contributions with this injection. Harborne, formerly the chief investment officer at Amber Group, is a known figure in digital asset circles and maintains deep connections to the Tether ecosystem. Delo, who co-founded BitMEX in 2014, helped build the exchange that once dominated global crypto derivatives trading. Their combined contribution signals an expanding foothold for crypto wealth in mainstream political finance.
