Crypto.com’s personal AI agent venture, ai.com, is still not open to the public nearly eight months after its Super Bowl debut in February.
According to Cointelegraph, ai.com spent $15 million on a fourth-quarter Super Bowl advertisement to promote the launch of its AI platform. The ad sent a large number of users to reserve personal AI agent accounts, and the site crashed within minutes.
Nearly eight months later, the website still shows a notice saying demand is too high and AI agent generation is in a queue.
Crypto.com says the platform is still in development
A Crypto.com spokesperson confirmed that the platform remains under development. The spokesperson said ai.com is continuing in stealth mode and that more details will be provided once it is formally released to the public.
The product was pitched as broader than finance
In a February announcement, ai.com said its personal AI agents were designed for use beyond financial scenarios. The company said the agents could schedule work, send messages, operate across apps, and build projects.
The announcement also said the agents would be able to develop missing capabilities on their own and share improvements across the network.
Competitors have already launched narrower AI assistants
While ai.com remains unavailable, competing platforms have already introduced AI assistants aimed at more specific tasks.
- Robinhood said on Tuesday that it would offer an AI agent capable of automated trading inside its app.
- Kraken launched an AI finance tool in July.
- Bitget introduced its AI trading assistant, GetAgent, in June.
- Anthropic added computer use to Claude Cowork in March.
- OpenAI launched ChatGPT Work in July.
During the same period, Crypto.com has continued investing in its AI business.
