Crypto venture funding has roared back to life with an unprecedented weekly total. According to data from Cryptorank, between October 6 and 12, 27 crypto projects and companies raised a combined $3.48 billion—the highest single-week fundraising volume ever recorded in the digital asset industry.
Investor Activity and Lead Rounds
The record-breaking week was spearheaded by Pantera Capital, which participated in four rounds and served as the lead investor in two of them. Other major players included Hack VC and VanEck, each leading two rounds. Coinbase Ventures, Borderless Capital, X Ventures, and Road Capital each closed two deals during the month, signaling a broad-based return of institutional capital to crypto markets.
Sector Distribution: DeFi and Infrastructure Lead
DeFi (decentralized finance) and blockchain infrastructure projects attracted the largest share of capital, followed closely by centralized finance (CeFi) ventures. Mid-sized raises remain the most common segment: 268 rounds fell between $3 million and $10 million, 159 rounds were in the $1–3 million bracket, and 114 rounds in the $10–20 million range. The presence of several mega-rounds above $100 million significantly boosted the weekly total.
Geographic Breakdown
The United States continues to dominate the crypto fundraising landscape, attracting $9.27 billion year-to-date. Malta followed with $2 billion, and Singapore secured $1.13 billion. These figures highlight the importance of regulatory clarity and a mature investor ecosystem in driving funding activity.
Innovation Focus Fuels Capital Inflows
Analysts point to renewed investor confidence as capital flows increasingly target DeFi protocols, layer-one (L1) infrastructure, and tokenized real-world asset (RWA) platforms—sectors expected to power the next wave of crypto innovation. The surge suggests that venture capitalists are not merely betting on short-term price movements but are making long-term commitments to blockchain-based applications and financial infrastructure.
The record weekly funding serves as a strong signal that institutional appetite for crypto exposure is accelerating, despite ongoing market volatility and regulatory debates. With the total crypto fundraising year-to-date already surpassing previous annual records, the momentum appears poised to continue through the final quarter of 2025.
