The digital asset market witnessed a vigorous recovery on Wednesday, April 9, as total valuation swelled over 9% during afternoon trading. Bitcoin surged past the $83,000 benchmark, up 8.4% on the day. However, several altcoins dramatically outperformed Bitcoin, signaling a broad-based risk-on sentiment.
Altcoin Rally: AI Meme Coins and Major Tokens Surge
Leading the charge was FARTCOIN, an AI-infused meme token that skyrocketed 47.45%. XCN followed closely with a 44.69% leap. Other notable gainers included POP (+36.44%), FLR (+32.83%), TEL (+25.40%), HYPE (+24.38%), AERO (+24.32%), and PENDLE (+23.60%). Assets such as S, CHEX, RSR, SPX, RENDER, and SUPER also joined the rally. The only significant decliner was BDX, which slipped a mere 0.96% over 24 hours.
Trading Volume Explodes 62%, Liquidity Returns
Trading activity on Wednesday concentrated around USDT, BTC, and ETH pairs, followed by USDC, XRP, SOL, FDUSD, DAI, DOGE, BNB, and SUI. Total daily turnover surged 62.44% compared to the prior session, exceeding $178 billion. This substantial volume increase indicates that sidelined capital rushed back into the market after a week of steep declines.
Market Dominance: BTC Holds 62.5%, ETH at 7.6%
Despite the altcoin rally, Bitcoin maintains its dominant position with a 62.5% share of the total $2.63 trillion crypto market. Ethereum commands a 7.6% stake. The aggregate valuation of altcoins, while rising sharply, remains below the $1 trillion threshold. Analysts view the rebound as a “relief rally” following oversold conditions, but caution that sustained upside will depend on macroeconomic factors and regulatory developments.
