According to data from SoSoValue, crypto market sectors broadly declined, with the DeFi segment posting a 24-hour drop of 9.16%, making it the worst-performing area of the day. Hyperliquid (HYPE), which had previously hit record highs repeatedly, pulled back 9.15%, while LAB (LAB) plunged 37.47%. However, DeXe (DEXE) bucked the trend with a 14.58% gain, highlighting active rotational flows within the sector.

DeFi Under Pressure, BTC and ETH Diverge

Amid DeFi weakness, the two largest assets showed contrasting moves. Bitcoin (BTC) edged up 1.33% to reclaim the $63,000 level, while Ethereum (ETH) continued its slide, down 0.92% and falling below $1,800. In contrast, GameFi and NFT sectors demonstrated relative strength, rising 0.49% and 1.38% respectively. Within GameFi, Audiera (BEAT) surged 20.27%, and APENFT (NFT) inched up 0.15% in the NFT space.

Sector Divergence: Meme and PayFi Show Notable Swings

Crypto sector indices reflecting historical performance showed that ssiSocialFi, ssiAI, and ssiDePIN dropped 8.9%, 8.4%, and 7.49% respectively, indicating a broad pullback in hot thematic sectors. The divergence across segments suggests that while overall sentiment turned cautious, pockets of strength remain in GameFi, NFT, and selective tokens.
