The global crypto market fell to $2.14 trillion on June 26, down 1.8% over the past 24 hours, while total trading volume reached $96 billion. Bitcoin and Ethereum both moved lower. BTC traded at $59,181, down 2.58%, and ETH stood at $1,556.34, off 3.8%. Market sentiment remained weak, with the Crypto Fear & Greed Index at 13, still in Extreme Fear.

Bitcoin keeps market share lead as majors stay under pressure

Bitcoin’s market dominance was listed at 55.7%, while Ethereum accounted for 8.81%. BTC recorded $40.4 billion in daily trading volume and a market capitalization of about $1.18 trillion. ETH posted $15.9 billion in volume with a market cap of roughly $187.8 billion. Among other widely watched assets, XRP changed hands at $1.03, down 4.13%, while Solana traded at $67.17, slipping 0.52%.

MemeCore leads gainers while Mantle and PEPE slide

MemeCore posted the strongest move of the day. The token traded at $0.8894, surging 71.84% with trading activity of $39.10 million. Audiera climbed 23.45% to $2.19, and ether.fi rose 12.54% to $0.3854. On the losing side, Mantle dropped 13.19% to $0.4329, PEPE fell 7.42%, and NEAR Protocol lost 7.36%.

Stablecoins hold flat as security incidents stay in focus

Stablecoins showed no negative change over the last 24 hours, with a combined market capitalization of $308.9 billion and trading volume of $82 billion. The DeFi sector was also described as stable, with a market cap of $67.4 billion, trading volume of $4.72 billion, and global dominance at 3.2%. Outside price action, BitGo said it will cut nearly 15% of its workforce as it concentrates on security, trading, stablecoins, settlement, and AI infrastructure. Polymarket also disclosed that hackers stole about $3 million after malicious code was inserted into its website through a third-party vendor, and the platform said affected users would be fully reimbursed.

Regulatory and institutional developments continue

The U.S. Senate is aiming for a July vote on the CLARITY Act, though competing legislative priorities and ongoing negotiations could push the crypto market structure bill to later in the year. Kraken was reported to be planning to buy a 15% stake in Aave Group, but Aave founder Stani Kulechov rejected claims tied to discounted token sales and said the reported transaction details were inaccurate. Elsewhere, the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange listed the Volatility Shares Solana ETF, or SOLZ. Ethena-backed StablecoinX also completed its merger with TLGY Acquisition Corp. and is set to begin trading on Nasdaq under the ticker USDE.

Compared with June 25, the June 26 session showed a milder decline. Total market capitalization moved from $2.17 trillion to $2.14 trillion, the daily drop narrowed from 2.9% to 1.8%, the Fear & Greed Index improved from 12 to 13, and trading volume increased from $94.9 billion to $96 billion.
