Crypto markets traded cautiously on Wednesday as Bitcoin (BTC) held above 80,000 while investors redirected funds into altcoins showing stronger momentum. BNB emerged as the best performer among large-cap cryptocurrencies, climbing 2.6% to $677.06. Its market capitalization also surpassed $91 billion as trading activity increased steadily during the session. Market participants are closely watching whether BNB can sustain its upward trajectory while other leading assets struggle to extend gains.
Bitcoin slipped 0.2% to $80,886.66. Ethereum (ETH) stayed relatively stable near $2,297.88. XRP traded around $1.46 after a minor daily decline, yet its market capitalization remained above $90 billion, drawing continued attention. Solana (SOL) recorded a volatile session, dropping 1.2% to $94.93, though trading volume stayed elevated above $3.1 billion, indicating persistent trader interest. Dogecoin (DOGE) gained 1.7% to $0.112 as meme coin activity rebounded across several exchanges.
Small-Cap Altcoins Post Strong Gains: AURA Leads with 34% Surge
Outside the largest cryptocurrencies, several lower-cap assets delivered stronger percentage gains. AURA (AURA) surged 34.4% with trading volume approaching $5.9 million. Swarm Network (TRUTH) jumped 31.8%, while Keeta (KTA) advanced 31.3%. Superform (UP) climbed 31%, and Peaq (PEAQ) gained 27.2% on trading volume exceeding $14 million. Yooldo Games (ESPORTS) followed the broader trend with a 22.2% rise, volume nearing $39.5 million.
Meanwhile, Tron (TRX) held positive momentum, rising 0.2% to $0.3497, maintaining a market cap above $33 billion. The broader crypto market now reflects a growing divide: stable large-cap assets contrast sharply with highly volatile smaller tokens. While Bitcoin maintains market dominance, traders are increasingly shifting their focus to altcoins that show stronger short-term momentum and higher speculative activity.
