CryptoQuant head of research Julio Moreno said on Sept. 26 that Bitcoin’s recent rise has pushed the market’s unrealized profit margin to 33%, the highest level since December 2024. At the same time, realized profit-taking in Bitcoin climbed to 25,700 BTC, marking the highest level seen in 2026. Moreno said the simultaneous increase in unrealized profits and profit-taking usually suggests that the current rally is losing momentum. In his view, that setup leaves the market exposed to a pullback risk. The comments focus on two closely watched market indicators. One tracks how much paper profit is sitting in the market, while the other reflects the scale of investors locking in gains. When both rise together, CryptoQuant sees it as a sign that upside strength may be fading.

CryptoQuant head of research Julio Moreno said on Sept. 26 that Bitcoin’s recent advance has lifted the market’s unrealized profit margin to 33%, its highest level since December 2024.

At the same time, Bitcoin profit-taking rose to 25,700 BTC, the highest level recorded in 2026.

Moreno said that when unrealized profits and profit-taking rise at the same time, it usually signals that the current rally is losing steam and that the market faces pullback risk.
