CryptoRank data cited by PANews shows that only a small share of tokens launched since the start of 2024 remain in profit. Among 113 projects with market capitalizations above $100 million, just eight tokens are trading above their token generation event, or TGE, price, while the other 105 have fallen below issuance levels. The better performers in the dataset were HYPE, ONDO, EVA and NIGHT, which were up about 1519%, 101.4%, 20.3% and 16.5%, respectively, versus their TGE prices. The figures point to how hard it has been for newly launched tokens to hold their initial valuations, with strong post-TGE performance remaining the exception rather than the norm.

PANews reported on July 22, citing data from CryptoRank, that only 7.1% of tokens launched since the start of 2024 are still in profit.

Among 113 projects with market capitalizations above $100 million, only eight tokens are currently trading above their token generation event, or TGE, price. The remaining 105 have fallen below their issuance price.

Only a handful remain above launch levels

The better-performing protocols in the dataset included HYPE, ONDO, EVA and NIGHT. Relative to their TGE prices, they were up about 1519%, 101.4%, 20.3% and 16.5%, respectively.

The CryptoRank figures show that it has been extremely difficult for newly launched tokens to maintain their initial valuations. Strong post-TGE performance has remained rare, while most projects have gone through deep and sustained pullbacks.
