ChainCatcher reported that daos.fun founder Shaw accused core member baoskee in an X post of using insider information to sell during the ai16z token’s rename and migration process, allegedly making about $6.6 million. Shaw said he included related on-chain records from Solscan.
Shaw says sales happened around the rename and migration
According to Shaw, the project team had promised in June 2025 to launch a Snapshot vote so the community could decide whether the project should be renamed. He said venture capital firm a16z had asked the project to change its name to avoid trademark disputes.
Shaw said the voting process did not launch on schedule. He alleged that after learning about the rename pressure and the later migration plan, baoskee sold all ai16z held in the daos.fun execution wallet and continued selling before the project migrated to ElizaOS, which he said drove the token price down.
Shaw argued that baoskee had information that other holders did not have at the time.
baoskee denies the claim and counters with accusations of his own
baoskee rejected the allegation in a separate post, saying the Snapshot vote had in fact gone live. He also said daos.fun used its own funds to add and lock more than $1 million in ai16z liquidity.
He then turned the criticism back on Shaw, alleging that Shaw had used the ai16z brand to rug pull multiple pump.fun projects, turned a community meme coin into a full company, triggered serious copyright issues, drove the token’s market capitalization from several billions of dollars down to six figures, and later launched a second token before rug pulling the first one.
The two sides are currently presenting clearly conflicting versions of events.
