DEXTools aggregates real-time data from 20+ blockchains with full features; MoonTools has been inactive since mid-2022 with wallet connection and data feed down. DEXTools clearly outperforms the defunct competitor.

As DeFi expands and new DEXs appear, real-time on-chain data has become a must for traders. Two platforms — DEXTools and MoonTools — once competed head-to-head in this niche. Here's how they stack up today.

DEXTools: Real-Time Data Across 20+ Chains

DEXTools is a DApp that pulls live data from decentralized exchanges on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, Avalanche, Polygon, and 15+ other networks. Traders can browse pairs, swap tokens, set price alerts, discover new liquidity pools, and dive into pool details — all from one interface. The Multiswap feature allows batch token swaps in a single transaction.

Access to advanced features requires holding the DEXT token (ERC-20 and BEP-20). The Standard plan costs either 1,000 DEXT in wallet at login or a monthly payment of $100 in DEXT. The Premium tier demands 100,000 DEXT. Even the free package grants real-time charts and basic data, though viewing the top 10 hot pairs is limited to paid tiers.

The DEXTboard dashboard aggregates top gainers and losers, recent social media updates (filtered by 5 min, 1 hr, 6 hr, 24 hr), volume, price changes, and total liquidity. New pair listings appear instantly under “Live new pairs,” including exact listing time, initial liquidity, and pool size. Users can also get these via a Telegram bot.

Big swap explorer logs recent large swaps on each chain, showing direction (buy/sell), USD and ETH amounts. Pair explorer enables swaps, DEXTscore checks, price alerts, and voting for subscribers.

MoonTools: Once a Contender, Now Offline

MoonTools was designed to explore DEX data on Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, and BNB Chain. It offered similar features: multiswap, new pair alerts, price alerts (via Telegram), and wallet monitoring. Subscription required MOONS tokens (on Ethereum and Polygon), bought on Uniswap V2. The Basic tier needed 5 MOONS; Pro needed 100 MOONS.

However, as of late July 2026, MoonTools is effectively dead. Wallet connection fails, no trades execute, and no data loads. Its last social media post was in May 2022. After releasing version 1.2.0 in November 2021, activity faded. A brief revival attempt in February 2022 didn't last. The MOONS DAO governance plan is abandoned. It's unclear whether the team will ever resume operations.

Takeaway: DEXTools Is the Clear Winner

Comparing the two, DEXTools offers reliable, up-to-date data from far more chains, with active development and transparent update frequency. MoonTools was well-designed but is now non-functional. For DEX traders, choosing a tool that actually works is essential. DEXTools’ paid plans are expensive, but the free tier covers basic needs.

DEX analytics tools are not mandatory for trading — anyone can swap directly on AMMs. But they do give traders an edge in timing and information, if the platform stays alive.
