$355M Raise with a16z Leading at $100M

Digital Asset has completed a new funding round totaling $355 million, bringing its valuation to approximately $2 billion. a16z crypto alone contributed $100 million, joined by 7RIDGE, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Citadel Securities, and Optiver. Founded in 2014, the firm is known for its permissioned blockchain solutions tailored for the financial sector, earning trust among top-tier institutions.

Co-founder and CEO Yuval Rooz emphasized that institutional adoption has been central to the mission from day one.

Canton Network: Tokenization & Confidential Settlement

The fresh capital will primarily fuel the expansion and scaling of the Canton Network. This permissioned blockchain infrastructure helps institutions tokenize traditional securities and settle transactions while keeping commercially sensitive data confidential—a critical feature for compliant and competitive finance. Heavyweights like Goldman Sachs, BNY Mellon, BNP Paribas, Standard Chartered, Société Générale, and Deutsche Börse have already piloted the network, underscoring its clear institutional positioning.

Funding Momentum: From $120M to $355M

This round extends Wall Street's sustained backing for Digital Asset. In June 2025, the company raised $135 million with DRW Venture Capital, Tradeweb, Citadel Securities, IMC, Optiver, Goldman Sachs, and Virtu. A December 2025 strategic round added $50 million from BNY Mellon, Nasdaq, S&P Global, and iCapital. Back in 2021, Digital Asset secured over $120 million from 7RIDGE and Eldridge. Earlier investors included JPMorgan, Citi, Deutsche Börse, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Samsung, and Salesforce. Bloomberg reported last month that the initial target was around $300 million at the same valuation, with the deal closing within weeks. Cointelegraph sought comment from Digital Asset but received no response by press time.
