Disney Korea has signed a content licensing deal with Carrieverse, bringing major Disney and Pixar IP into the metaverse platform. The announcement coincided with sharp gains in CVTX price and volume, though the source material is a press release and should be viewed with caution.

Disney has taken a notable step into Web3 through a new content licensing agreement between The Walt Disney Company Korea, LLC and Carrieverse. According to the announcement, the partnership will bring Disney and Pixar characters and story worlds into the Carrieverse metaverse, including franchises such as Inside Out, Moana, Elemental, and Coco.

What the partnership includes

Carrieverse said the deal is designed to combine established entertainment IP with interactive digital experiences, a move aimed at strengthening engagement on its platform. The company stated that since its launch in March, it has surpassed 100,000 daily active users, mostly in Southeast Asia. In another section of the release, Carrieverse said its DAU had reached 150,000. It also said that around 30 Disney and Pixar IPs are expected to be integrated into the ecosystem.

The company presented the agreement as a major milestone for its broader metaverse ambitions. Carrieverse said it plans to expand further through additional IP and content partnerships while also pushing into India and North America. It added that its title Superkola Tactics has already recorded more than 800,000 pre-registrations.

CVTX event launched alongside the announcement

To mark the partnership, Carrieverse introduced a promotional event running through September 30, 2024. Rewards are tied to price milestones for its governance token, CVTX. If the token reaches $0.05, 100 winners receive 100 CVTX each. At $0.10, 50 winners receive one month of Disney+ Premium. Higher thresholds at $0.15 and $0.20 unlock larger rewards, with eligibility linked to minimum token holdings.

The company also said holder verification for wallets with 10,000 CVTX and 100,000 CVTX would be conducted twice, on August 1, 2024 and September 1, 2024.

Strong market reaction, but caution is warranted

The press release said CVTX had risen 4x over the previous two days, while daily trading volume increased 146%. The market response suggests investors are paying close attention to the idea of a major entertainment brand entering Web3 through a metaverse platform. Strategically, the deal also reflects how large media companies continue to explore blockchain-based digital engagement, even if cautiously.

That said, the source material is explicitly a press release, and some of its commentary on token upside is promotional in nature. The Disney licensing agreement is clearly significant for Carrieverse’s visibility and for metaverse narratives more broadly, but users and investors should still evaluate execution, adoption quality, and token-related risks independently before making decisions.
